ENGAGEMENT OF KINGSFORD LAWYERS
I/we the Client, hereby irrevocably engage Kingsford Lawyers to provide me with preliminary advice with respect to my legal matter.
PRELIMINARY ADVICE
Upon your execution of this Authority to Act and returning same to Kingsford Lawyers, you will be irrevocably engaging Kingsford Lawyers to act for you in your matter. We will allocate a lawyer to review your matter and read through the information which is contained in the file. Your lawyer will spend up to 1.5 hours of time reviewing your mater in order to establish the law that applies to your matter, your rights, remedies and any course of action which we think is appropriate given your instructions and current circumstances. The costs for us to review of the file is $350.00 (THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS) (plus of GST) (“Fee”). If after execution of this agreement you seek to cancel our engagement the fee will be non-refundable.
Once we have provided our preliminary advice to you, you may decide to proceed further or take no action at all. However, if you do decide to take your matter further, we will provide you with an estimated costs assessment to complete any future work that is required. Our costs assessment will be based on your instructions provided during the course of the assessment. For the benefit of any doubt, such costs will be in addition to the Fee, but you are under no obligation to go any further with our recommendation. If you do decide that you want us to continue to act for you, we will send you a legal cost’s disclosure agreement setting out those additional fees before we incur any further costs to you.
