Sonia has been practising Family Law since 2005 as well as Intervention Order matters, criminal matters, Hague matters and Victims of Crime matters.  Sonia has also acted as an Independent Children’s Lawyer since 2012.  Sonia’s predominant interest is parenting matters.  Sonia has had carriage of matters from the beginning to end, including negotiations, mediations and appearances at all stages of Court if a matter is in Court (including Final Hearings).  

Sonia will ensure that client’s are informed at each stage of their matter as to what to expect and will guide client’s through the process.  Sonia understands that this is a difficult time for all parties and also families in navigating through the process of engaging solicitors to assist them.  Sonia will always advocate (via mediation or in Court) every client’s matter and will seek to achieve the best possible outcome. 

Sonia can bring various skills to your matter from the perspective of what a client would like to achieve, and different perspectives such from an Independent Children’s Lawyers perspective and also the bench. 

Sonia also has experience in Recovery Order Applications, Airport Watchlist Orders, Hague matters and is familiar with both the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and the Magistrate’s Court.

Sonia absolutely loves music, although people may not agree with her music of choice.  Also loves movies/tv series ranging from law shows, thriller, horror, true stories and comedy.  Most importantly, Sonia loves her cheeky Jack Russell who has a way of talking to humans using his various little barks, tapping on people with his paw just to get across what his little heart would desire to do (wanting a belly rub, wanting to cuddle and chase after his multiple toys).
