  • The direct non-finance contributions

Other Aspects to Consider Under Property Settlement Law

The court will further consider any adjustments that should be granted in favour of a party, particularly surrounding future financial or other needs, such as:

  • If either party has the responsibility to support any other person
  • The earning capacity of either party due to circumstances during the period of relationship/marriage
  • The eligibility of either of the party for a pension, allowance, or benefit under any Commonwealth or State law
  • Any orders made or ought to be sought for property settlement
  • The income, property, and financial resources of each
  • Any child support that either party has paid, or will pay, or might be liable to pay in the future for a child of the marriage
  • The standard of living
  • If either party is cohabiting with another person, the financial circumstances relating to that cohabitation
